Download Files and Folders

To download files and/or folders from the company's or project's Documents tool.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permission: 'Read-only' and above on the Documents tool.
    • These permission levels apply to both the company and project level Documents tools.
Note: Permission levels are tool-specific. For example, you can have 'Read-only' level permissions on the company's Documents tool and 'Admin' level permissions on a project's Documents tool. Please keep this in mind when you are looking to tasks at different levels.)
  • There are three ways you can retrieve documents from Procore. You can download files directly from Procore's web interface to download them as their original file format, email files/folders to yourself or team members in the Directory, or Export Documents which will export the list of documents in the folder as either a PDF or CSV.
  • Once you download a file, it will appear in the file/folder's 'Download Log' in the file/folder overview page.

Download the current (i.e. most recent uploaded) version of a file/folder from Procore directly to your computer (Note: To download an older (i.e., previously uploaded) version of the file, see Download a Previous Version of a File).

  1. Choose from these options:
    • To view all the documents for a project, navigate to the project's Documents tool.
    • To view all documents in your company's account, navigate to the company's Documents tool.
  2. Select the files and/or folders you would like to download in the file tree (on the left side of the page).
    • Select a Range: To select a whole range of files, select the first file in the range, then select the last file while holding down the Shift key. (Mac and Windows)
    • Random Multi-Select: To select multiple files or folders at a time, you must hold the 'Control' (Windows) or 'Command' (Mac) key while selecting multiple items.
    • Select an individual file or folder: Click a file to download that file. Click a folder to download a .zip file that contains the most recent versions of the files in that folder.
  3. Click the Download button (on the right side of the page).
Additionally, you can right-click a file and choose the 'Download' option or you can double-click the file to immediately download and open it on your local computer.
Note: You may need to expand the right pane by clicking the arrows on the right side of the browser window.
