Link a Correspondence Item on a Drawing
Objective
To link a correspondence item to a section of a drawing using the project's Drawings tool.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- To link correspondence items on your personal layer of a drawing:
- 'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the project's Drawings tool.
AND - 'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the correspondence type.
- 'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the project's Drawings tool.
- To link correspondence items and publish the markups to the drawing:
- 'Standard' level permissions or higher on the project's Drawings tool.
AND - 'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the correspondence type.
- 'Standard' level permissions or higher on the project's Drawings tool.
- To link correspondence items on your personal layer of a drawing:
Steps
- Navigate to the project's Drawings tool.
- Click Open next to the drawing you want to mark up.
Note: You can also click Info next to the drawing and then click Open in Viewer / Markup in the sidebar. - Click the Markup tab if it is not already selected.
- Click the markup tool that you want to use (such as Cloud, Arrow, or Text). See Mark Up a Drawing.
- Add a markup to the relevant area of the drawing.
- Click the paperclip icon and select Correspondence.
- Select a correspondence type.
- In the Link a [Correspondence Type] field, search for and select the correspondence item that you want to add to the markup.
Tip
Double-click in this field to see a list of all correspondence items that you have access to that were created with the correspondence type that you selected. - Click the name of a correspondence item to link it to the drawing markup.
- If you want others to be able to view the linked correspondence item on the drawing and in the Links section on the correspondence item, select the markup and click Publish. See Publish Personal Drawing Markups.
