Enable the Change Events Tool

To enable the Change Events tool on your project.

  1. Decide if Change Events is right for your project. See Should I enable the Change Events tool on my project?
  2. If the Change Events tool is not active yet for your Company, ask your company's Procore Admin to contact a representative from the Procore Customer Success team to enable this tool.

Procore's Project level Change Events tool is designed to track potential costs on a project by better coordinating the entire change management process. For more information, see What is a change event?

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permission: 'Admin' on the project's Change Events tool.
  • While this is only recommended for projects that do not have any change orders already created, it may be possible to migrate your existing project to the new Change Events tool. Please have your company's Procore Admin contact a member of Procore's Customer Success Team to discuss.
  • To maintain the integrity of your financial data, the Change Events tool can not be disabled for a project once it has been created.
  • You may want to update your permission templates before enabling Change Events. Note the following:
    • In order to send RFQs to a subcontractor, you'll need to give them 'Standard' permissions on the Commitments tool.
    • If you want your Superintendent to be able to create Change Events, give them 'Admin' permissions' to the tool.
  • If you want the tool to be a default tool for all new projects, enable the tool on your standard project template.

  1. Navigate to each project that you would like to enable Change Events on.
  2. Select the project level Admin tool.
  3. Click on the Active Tabs link in the right pane.

  4. Mark the checkbox next to "Change Events".
    • Tip! Reorder the tools by dragging the tools by the  icon. Tools at the top of the list will appear on the right. Tools on the bottom of the list will appear at the left. The first tool will always be Home. The last tool will always be Admin.

  5. Click Update at the bottom of the page.
