Adding Markup Lines with Revenue ROM to Change Events

NOTICE

This article describes the Revenue ROM feature which is being gradually rolled out to Procore clients between the dates of May 6th - 17th. If your company has access to this functionality, but it is disabled, see Configure Advanced Settings: Change Events to learn how to enable the Revenue ROM columns.

Objective

Add markup lines with revenue ROM to change events.

Background

In order to show the entire potential impact of a change event before a change order is created, estimated markup is calculated and displayed using the Revenue ROM values. You can choose which prime contract to use for markup estimation when creating or editing the change event. Additionally, it is possible to bulk set all existing change events to use a particular prime contract.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:

    • To edit any change event, 'Admin' level permission on the Change Events tool.

      OR

    • To edit only the change events you created, 'Standard' level permission on the Change Events tool.

  • Supported Platforms:

    • Procore Web

Steps

Add estimated markup lines to a single change event:

  1. Navigate to the project's Change Events tool. This reveals the Change Events page.

  2. Locate the change event that you want to work with, and then click Edit.

  3. Modify the Prime Contract (For Markup Estimates) field to indicate which prime contract’s markup settings should be used to calculate the markup on Revenue ROMs.

  4. Click Update. This saves your changes. Markup will be calculated using the Revenue ROM values based on the markup settings on your chosen prime contract and will be displayed on the change event.

Next Steps

Add estimated markup lines to all change events at once.

Note: Once initiated, this process may take several minutes (or longer, for projects with many line items or markup lines), during which the Change Events tool will be unavailable.

  1. Navigate to the project's Change Events tool.

  2. Click the Configure Settings icon.

  3. Locate the section labeled Default “Change Event Prime Contract (For Markup Estimates)” for new change events.

  4. Verify that the prime contract displayed has the markup that you want to use for all of your existing change events. If you want to use a different prime contract’s markup, you must re-number the desired prime contract so that it has the lowest number.

  5. Click the Copy to Existing Change Events button.

  6. Click Confirm. This saves your changes. The Prime Contract (For Markup Estimates) field on all change events will be set to the indicated prime contract. Markup will be calculated using the Revenue ROM values based on the markup settings on your chosen prime contract and will be displayed on all change events.
