Configure Advanced Settings: Budget

Objective

To configure advanced settings for the project's Budget tool.

Background

Users with 'Admin' level permission can configure a variety of advanced settings for the project's Budget tool. 

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permission:
    • 'Admin' level permission on the project's Direct Costs tool.

Steps

Set the Budget Settings

  1. Navigate to the project's Budget tool.
    This reveals the Budget page 
  2. Click the Configure Settings  icon.
    This reveals the Budget Settings page. 
  3. Choose from the following options:
    • If you want your project's budget to perform addition/subtraction to increase/decrease its totals when creating budget modifications, place a checkmark in the Allow Budget Modifications Which Modify Grand Total box. See Create a Budget Modification
      OR
    • If you want the system to automatically calculate the forecast to complete, place a checkmark in the Autocalculate Forecast to Complete by Default box.  
      Note: Marking this checkbox will only automatically calculate the forecast to complete for new line items; it will not retroactively automatically calculate forecast to complete for old line items. 
  4. Click Update.
    The system saves your settings changes. 

Set User Permissions for the Budget Tool

  1. Navigate to the project's Budget tool.
    This reveals the Budget page 
  2. Click the Configure Settings  icon.
    This reveals the Budget Settings page. 
  3. Click the Permissions Table link. 
    This reveals the 'User Permissions for Budget' page.
  4. Set the access permission level for the tool's users by clicking the icon in the desired column so a GREEN checkmark appears.

    The color-coded icons in the user permissions area denotes the user's access permission level to the tool. To learn more, see What are the default permission levels in Procore?

    Icon Color Definition
    GREEN The user has been granted this access permission level to the tool.
    RED The user has NOT been granted this access permission to the tool.
    GREY The user is either (1) a Procore Administrator or, (2) has been granted access permission to the Procore tools on this project using a permission template (see What is a permission template?). To change the user's access permission level, follow the steps in Manage Permission Templates
