Direct Message. In Procore's Conversations tool, a direct message is a private conversation between two or more individuals in a project. You can access your direct messages in the 'Direct Messages' section of the Conversations tool.
Note: A direct message with multiple individuals is different than a group conversation in Procore, where a group has been created for specific individuals in the project to communicate.
Follower. In Procore, a follower is an individual who is following a conversation related to an item in a project. Conversations that you follow appear in the ‘Items’ section of the Conversations tool.
Group Conversation. In Procore's Conversations tool, a group is created for specific individuals in a project to communicate within a designated group conversation. For example, a group might be created for 'Electrical'. You can access your group conversations in the 'Groups' section of the Conversations tool.
Note: Users can send a direct message to multiple individuals in a project without the need for a group.
Item Conversation. In Procore's Conversations tool, an item conversation is a discussion related to an item in a Procore project. You can access item conversations in the 'Items' section of the Conversations tool, or directly on the item in the project.
Mention. In Procore, mention means to tag an individual in a conversation to notify and alert them. You can mention a user in a message by typing the @ symbol before their name.
Thread. In Procore's Conversations tool, a thread is a grouping of one or more messages started by replying to another message. Threads are beneficial when you want to respond to or have an additional discussion around a specific message in a conversation.
