Directory: Use Asterisk (*) and Exact Match (" ") Wildcard Characters in Search Queries

Procore has updated the search feature in the Project (and (coming soon!) Company) Level Directory tools to provide users with expanded search capabilities using a wildcard character. Here's a summary of with the wildcard characters that can now be used with the Directory search feature. These characters can be used in all of the tabs on the Directory tool.

  • Asterisk (*). Users can now place the asterisk(*) character after a search term. For example, door* would find door, doors, doorframe, and doorway.
  • Exact Match (" "). Users can now type a word or phrase inside quotation marks to search for exact matches to that phrase. For example, "Hollow Doorframe" or "Metal Doorframe".
