How do I create a PDF of articles on the support site?

Background

You may want to create a PDF of one or more of our support site articles. You can do this by either building a PDF, or building a "book." Building a PDF allows a single page to be generated as a PDF document in one click, which can be saved locally, uploaded to a web server, or printed for instructional use. Creating a "book" allows you to create a more customizable PDF by letting you manually select the pages on Procore's support site that you want included in the PDF in whichever order you wish.

Answer

Build a PDF of a Single Support Article
  1. Go the page with the article(s) you want to build a PDF for. 
  2. Click the PDF icon pdficon.png in the upper right hand corner. 
  3. If there are child pages (i.e. pages that "live" under the page you are exporting like files that "live" in a folder) that live on the page, (e.g. you are creating a PDF of all tutorials on the Inspections page) select the "Export all the children of this page" checkbox.
    Note: You do not need to select "Include the table of contents in the exported document" checkbox, as a table o fcontents will generate from the links on the page.
  4. Click Click here to download the exported PDF

  5. Your PDF will open in a new tab in your browser.
Build a Book of multiple PDFs
  1. Go to the page with the articles you want to build a PDF for. 
  2. Click the PDF icon pdficon.png in the upper right hand corner.
  3. Click the Click here to create a book containing this page button.
  4. The book editor will open in a new tab, and the blue highlighted text will indicate the page where you were creating a book from.

  5. Under "Browse for Pages", click to expand the folder structure to locate the pages you want to export as a PDF document.
  6. Click the page you want to add.
  7. If you want to just add a page, click Add Page. If you want to add a top-level page (similar to a folder) and all of its child-pages (like files in the folder), click Add Tree. 
  8. Repeat the process for each page or tree you want to add.
  9. All the pages in your book will be visible under "Current Book."
  10. Rearrange the order of the pages by dragging and dropping them in the desired sequence. (The first page in the book will appear first; the last page will appear at the bottom.)
  11. If you would like a table of contents to appear at the beginning of the PDF, click the checkbox next to Include table of contents.
  12. To view the PDF in a new tab, click View Book.
