Use the Drawings Markup Toolbar

Objective

To learn how to use the Drawing's markup toolbar.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Drawings tool.
  2. Click Open in the drawing log next to the drawing you're going to mark up. 
    (Note: You can also click Info in the drawing log next to the drawing you would like to add an item to, then click Open in Viewer / Markup in the right pane.)
  3. Click the Markup icon in the upper right of the page. 

Toolbar


 

  • Hand tool: The hand tool allows you to pan around the drawing by clicking and dragging on an image. You can also select existing markups to edit, publish, resize, or delete.
  • Pencil / Highlighter: Draw freehand shapes using either a pencil or highlighter. Use the Drawing Color and Stroke Width toolbar options to control the style of the line. Hold the 'Shift' button to draw a straight line.
  • Shape Tool: Draw straight or ruffled squares and circles. Use the Drawing Color and Stroke Width toolbar options to control the style of the line. Any shape can also be linked to an item in Procore. See Link Related Items on a Drawing.
  • Line / Arrow: Draw a line or an arrow. Use the Drawing Color and Stroke Width toolbar options to control the style of the line. Any line/arrow can also be linked to an item in Procore. See Link Related Items on a Drawing.
  • Add Text: Add a resizeable text box. Use the Drawing Color to control the style of the text. Drag the text size scroll bar above the text to make the text bigger or smaller.
  • Add Drawing Link: Draw a square or circle and add a link to another drawing sheet.
    Tip! To draw a circle over the desired area, start at the upper-left corner where the edges of the left and top sides of the circle would meet. Hold the Shift key (to create a symmetrical circle), left-click and drag to the bottom right of the circle, and release the left-click.
  • Add Punch List Item: Add a punch list item to the drawing. See Add Punch List Items to a Drawing.
  • Add Photos: Add photos to a drawing. See Add Photos to a Drawing.
  • Change Item Color: Select which color to use for related drawing tools.
  • Change Item Fill: Select the desired fill transparency of a drawing shape.
  • Change Line Width: Specify the width of a single line or border of a shape.
