To add a related item to a file in Procore's Documents tab.
Things to Consider
Required User Permission: 'Read-only' and 'Standard' users can see and access related items. Only 'Admin' users can add and delete related items.
To view the title of the related item, you will need 'Read-only' and above permissions on the Documents tool. If you have permissions to view the item in Procore, you will see a link in the description. Click this link to open the item in another tab of your browser.
These permission levels apply to both the Company and Project level Documents tab. (Note: permission levels are tool-specific. For example, you can have Read-only level permissions on the Company level Documents tab and 'Admin' level permissions on a Project level Documents tab. Please keep this in mind when you are looking to tasks at different levels.)
Navigate to the Company level or Project level Documents tab.
Using your file tree in the left pane, select the file you would like to add related item(s) to.
While viewing the file details in the middle pane, scroll down to 'Related Items'.
Fill out the fields.
Type: Select from the drop-down menu the type of item you would like to add to the related items list (e.g. drawing revision, RFI, Submittal).
Description: Choose an item within the type to relate to the file (e.g. Choose a drawing revision previously uploaded to Procore's Drawings tool.)
Date: The date of the item will automatically be filled if relevant.
Notes: Add any notes to the revision you would like to show up in the list.
