What are specifications?
In construction management, specifications define the exact requirements of the project, products and processes. Also, they define many items including the architects who produce the spec books, such as installation means and methods, general site protection and cleaning, and quality expectations.
Typical Components
- Summary, required submittals, quality assurance, testing.
- Product descriptions including manufacturers, models and colors.
- Execution: preparation, installation, cleanup.
Construction Process
- This is determined by the owner and the architect and distributed to general contractor and subcontractors.
