How do I respond to and close a 'Draft' RFI as an RFI Manager?

Answer

If you have been designated as an RFI Manager on your project (see What is the RFI Manager role?), you may also occasionally have the added responsibility of being the person responsible for submitting a response to an RFI. As an RFI Manager, this workflow requires a few extra steps:

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's RFIs tool.
    This reveals the RFIs page. 
  2. Locate the desired 'Draft' RFI in the list. 
  3. Click Edit.
    This places the RFI in edit more.
  4. In the RFI # field, delete the existing value if you do NOT want the RFI to have a number.
  5. Remove the checkmark from the Draft box. 
    This will place the RFI in the Open status. 
  6. In the Assigned To field, select your name from the drop-down list.
    This will designate you as the RFI's Ball In Court person. 
  7. Click Update
    This saves your changes. You can now respond to an RFI as described in Respond to an RFI.
  8. After you respond to the RFI, you can then complete these steps as needed:
